ABOUT US
The Apartment Association of Southeast Texas (AASET) is a non-profit trade association representing: Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange and Tyler counties. Chartered in 1968, the AASET is the regional organization with members representing: multi-family owners, managers, developers, leasing consultants, service technicians and suppliers.
The AASET actively monitors the local, state, and national legislative and regulatory changes that affect the multifamily industry. The AASET staff, working with Texas Apartment Association (TAA) and the National Apartment Association (NAA) is committed to protecting your business interests and keeping you informed.
Our Mission: The Apartment Association of Southeast Texas provides its members with industry education, professional growth, current base of knowledge in a changing business environment, and to advocate to fair legislation. The Apartment Association of Southeast Texas strives to better serve the housing needs of residents in communities throughout Southeast Texas.

Hope Hilz is responsible for the overall administration and operations of the association, and is the staff liaison to the Board of Directors. Hope prepares and monitors the operational budget, corporate minutes, and member correspondence. Additionally, she provides support to all committees. She works hard at establishing and maintaining positive relationships with legislators and their staff and serves as a contact point for the state and national organizations. Hope is also responsible for all social and meeting events of the association. She oversees speaker/meeting contracts and confirmations. Hope serves as editor of the monthly newsletter and manages advertising. She assists with writing and desktop design projects and oversees website operations.
Lynda Wert serves as receptionist for the association and assistant to the Executive Officer. Her voice will be the one greeting you when you call the office. Additionally, she handles maintaining membership data and handling the needs of the membership overall . She is also responsible for monthly meeting reservations. She assists with meeting and speaker confirmations, grievance processing and newsletter layout.
